How I work

I qualified as a counsellor in 2003 and have been BACP Accredited since June 2009. I've worked in a range of settings, including the NHS and private practice, and I've worked online for several years. I also supervise other counsellors.

My core approach is pluralistic, which means I draw on different ways of working to suit you, rather than fitting you to one model. My original training is in psychodynamic therapy. Above all, I will listen to you fully, and together we'll find the best way forward.

I currently work with police personnel through an agency. My private practice is separate, and I explain how that works when we first speak.

Alcohol, without judgement

I have specialist training in substance misuse, and I run giveupdrinking.co.uk, a site with tips and support for cutting down or giving up alcohol. Alcohol often comes up in this line of work, and it's fine to talk about it here.
